Eye floaters are tiny spot like substances that are visible to the eye in different vision situations. Such eye floaters are caused when the vitreous liquid inside the eye liquefies due to aging. You will be able to see them when you blink or rotate your eyes in different directions. They follow the movement of your eyes. And as soon as the eye stops moving, these eye floaters also become motionless.

The eye floaters are mostly visible when you begin to stare at a wall or a clear sky. Some people confuse light flashes with floaters; unfortunately they are not the same thing. Light flashes and bright lights are in front of your eyes as signs of serious eye damage condition. More often, eye floaters go unnoticed. They are not too bothersome. Only when they occur in an excessive amount, it becomes necessary to talk to a doctor.

The usual medicine that the doctor prescribes for eye floaters are antibiotics pills that can be taken orally. This medicine is given only if the eye floaters have been a repercussion by the presence of white blood cells from an eye inflammation and/or infection of your eye. You will be able to find vitamins and other products with iodine in them. They are considered to be an ideal cure for eye floaters. But the results have not been confirmed clinically. There are many surgical procedures that can be done to cure the eye floaters. However many doctors are against this due to the high risk involved with surgeries.

First kind of surgery involves taking the vitreous humor from your eyes and replacing them with a solution that is man made. The second is worse, it involves a laser. If the laser misses the eye floater anyway, then you will forever have a blind spot burned into your retina. Researching and talking to many different doctors will be a good decision but it will be ideal if we prevent eye floaters rather than searching for remedies.
